How To Install WordPress Plugins Onto Your Website
WordPress would be nothing without help from wordpress plugins. WordPress plugins are things that you can install onto you wordpress blog to accomplish different thing. Plugins vary from a simple contact form, to an entire forum for your website. There are plugins for twitter, google ads, and even plugins that translate your entire site for you! WordPress plugins are the greatest, and they are what complete the wordpress experience. So what are we waiting for? Note: You need to have wordpress installed onto your website, or have a wordpress hosted website in order to be able to download wordpress themes (obviously.) If you dont know how to download wordpress in the first place, CLICK HERE to view a written tutorial for that.
1. Go to http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ for over 7,000 Plugins.
There are two ways of installing wordpress plugins: The first way is describing how to do it without FTP access to your website, and the second way is describing how to do it with FTP access to your website.
2a. Sign into your wordpress admin panel and go to the “plugins” tab.
3a. Now hit the “Add New” sub menu, If you have a plugin in a .zip format the
4a. Then Hit browse and then open the .zip file and hit install.
5a. Now go to the “Installed” Sub Menu, and click activate on the plugins you would like to have on your forum.
Know if you want to go the FTP route then do this.
2b. Open up your FTP program and then connect to your server.
3b. Then go to “/www/wp-content/plugins” and put the unziped folder in there.
4b. Sign into your wordpress and go to admin page.
5b. Now go to the “Installed” Sub Menu of “plugins”, and click activate on the plugins you would like to have on your forum.
